nd from building educational programs including an international business acceleration curriculum for over 50 startups: Ethics is a critical topic to be introduced to Startup Founders from early on. Why? Because ethics come from one’s core values and deep belief systems, and it answers the “why” question in our pursuits. Not only ethics help us to build long-term visions for our products, — ultimately creating a sustainable future for our businesses and making the world a better place — but it also helps us to continuously keep in touch with what matters most every step of the way. Each time a business owner or a startup Founder asks me: “what direction do you think we should focus on”? My perspective would be: “Tell me more about your original vision. What is most important to you and why?” 99% of the time, the Founder/CEO was able to answer their questions. Sometimes in the midst of doing great things, we forget about what drove us in the first place. It happens to the best of us. Every morning, I remind myself: “Embrace your ethics, stay true to your core values: it will help you to regain focus, stay inspired, and do the right thing in the long run.”When I first read the below article, “Stanford to step-up in [the] teaching of ethics in technology” (see below), it prompted me to share my thoughts. I believe the core messages of this article apply to other fields including healthcare and also to the way we lead our lives. For now, let’s us together celebrate the good news.
